A "friend" on Facebook has a collection of "flair," which includes this among the usual right-wing claptrap:
"I didn't vote for Obama. But he is my President, so I will respect him."
This is followed by "1 Peter 2:13-20". A quick check reveals it to be this passage:
13Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
18Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. 20But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
A few pieces of flair later, we find one with the "No" symbol across the Obama logo, with this phrase underneath:"No thanks, already have a messiah."
So much for respecting him.

But wasn't the name "messiah" given to him by the right-wing propaganda mill just to stir up anti-Obama hatred among Christians when they started realising they're losing that election? Well, no matter. Whoever calls him that, Democrat or Republican, is a freaking idiot. He's a politician and is inherently full of sh*t. Besides, how much power does our president REALLY have anymore?
There's a HUGE difference between respecting your President, as all Americans, Christian or not, should do and thinking/treating him like he's the Messiah. We have a Messiah, he walked the Earth about 2000 years ago and died for each and every one of us.
