My Challenge to those against Gay Marriage

I challenge those of you who are against gay marriage to come up with ONE valid argument that does not:

1. rely on Bible references (See www.godhatesshrimp.com),

2. equate homosexuality to adultery, bigamy, child molestation, incest or bestiality (See Rick "Man On Dog" Santorum),

3. sound bigoted when you substitute "interracial" for "gay".

Good luck.

Pointless Things To Say To A Small Child

My wife to our son: "Don't make a mess."

Me: "That's like saying 'AC/DC, don't write songs about sex and drinking'."

4 Way Street (Arnold/Boggia/Bricklin/Muir/Parsons) live at the Painted Bride on New Year's Eve 2005-2006.

With special guest Amos Lee! Yes, I finally finished uploading the show to YouTube. Enjoy!

(Side note: Mike Keneally is one of my top three favorite musicians of all time, the other two being Frank Zappa and Todd Rundgren. You may be familiar with his work with Frank Zappa, Steve Vai and Dethklok. Why not go to www.keneally.com and explore his unique musical view?)

2. The Reduced Shakespeare Company - Podcast #129 - Three Day Weekend

Support Prop 2!

Please note: I did not write this, but I agree with it completely. My thanks to "Stephanie" for composing it.

Marriage is between a man and a woman, exclusively, for life. It's in the Bible. I propose Prop Two, a California Ballot Initiative, to criminalize adultery and divorce. Because:

Mark 10:11,12 He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."

Rom 7:2-3 "For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man."

1Cor 7:39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives.

Luke 16:18b The man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

1Cor 7:10-11 To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

NIV, Exodus 20:14 You shall not commit adultery.

NIV, Proverbs 6:32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment; whoever does so destroys himself.

NAS, Luke 18:18-20) And a certain ruler questioned Him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments, 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother.'"

A Small Example of Right-Wing Hypocrisy

A "friend" on Facebook has a collection of "flair," which includes this among the usual right-wing claptrap:

"I didn't vote for Obama. But he is my President, so I will respect him."

This is followed by "1 Peter 2:13-20". A quick check reveals it to be this passage:

13Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. 15For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. 16Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. 17Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.

18Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. 20But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.

A few pieces of flair later, we find one with the "No" symbol across the Obama logo, with this phrase underneath:

"No thanks, already have a messiah."

So much for respecting him.
